Oil on metal is a sharp, clean and modern look. It can be soft and comforting at the same time that it is sleek and abstract. It conveys strength and technology. Easily at home in a corporate setting, it exudes professionalism; in a healthcare setting it is both sterile and warm; it lends itself perfectly to a contemporary home, or one which needs a modern touch.

The Motherboard Series is based on the concept that the motherboard of a computer "gave birth" to a controlled color palette. This palette is based on the Macbeth color chart which was used as a calibration standard for photographs to be color correct on a computer monitor. The themes of the paintings range from a rigidly defined approach, to the maternal (as in "Madonna") and to the offspring: both errant and emotional. The series is produced in oils on large sheets of aluminum, and also in encaustic which offers a deeply tactile warmth in contrast to the cold, sterile computer screen.

Encaustic is a medium that pre-dates oil paints. It consists of beeswax and suspended pigments which are heated together and fused to a surface to last thousands of years, as evidenced by Egyptian art. To live with the sensuality and sweet scent of an encaustic painting is deeply rewarding, whether figurative, abstract or landscape.

Reflecting emotion and colorful palettes, these acrylic paintings portray themes of spectator, dreamer, and explorer. Fun, beauty and personal moments are evoked and endearing.
